The Unveiling of the 2005 Triumph Sprint ST and Speed Triple
On Sept 2 I flew to London for Triumph Global Dealer meeting with much anticipation. We went to see the factory, talk about Triumph's future and see the new models. To say that I am very excited to be a Triumph dealer would be an understatement!
First of all, let's talk about the new bikes
The new Speed Triple is stunning. Triumph has recaptured the raw excitement that was a big part of the original Speed Triple's appeal. This bike has a very aggressive look to it. Twin pipes, redesigned wheels, an elegant instrument display, a "bobbed" rear end that is designed to have the fender removed, inverted front forks, radial brakes, a bigger 1050cc motor (as if it needed it!) and cleaned up wire routing that all translates to a stunningly elegant and powerful design solution. The 1050 Speed Triple has class leading performance that will vault it event farther ahead of the pack while retaining its raw aggressive look. This bike has more attitude than all the previous bikes put together!
The Sprint ST has always been a solid performer but this latest version will distance it from its competitors. The Sprint retains its versatility while adding to its performance, functionality and style. The 2005 Sprint has all new styling that sets it apart from the pack. Playing on the foundation of its three-cylinder motor, the bike's styling showcases the triple theme with its three projector beam headlights and its triple outlet underseat exhaust. The headlight arrangement has a cutting edge look to it and makes a statement about how well the design of the bike is integrated. The rest of the styling is a unique blend of cutting edge angles and beautifully stylized curves. It works! The single sided swing arm, redesigned wheels and the underseat exhaust finish off this attractive package. Event the frame rails are stylish! Finally, a company that can compete with the Italians in design elegance. The motor is the new 1050cc triple. The chassis is completely redone and the components upgraded to give it class leading performance. ABS will be available, a GPS system too, and the bags have been redesigned to accommodate a single key for all the locks on the bike.
Other developments: More power for the T100 and Speedmaster, a bigger motor for the Daytona 650 and fresh new colors throughout the range.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. We only saw the new bikes after getting a tour of the new factory. WOW what an experience! This is truly a modern state of the art manufacturing facility, second to none in the industry. We saw Triumphs systems for new product development. For every ten concepts, only three make it to production and they are committed to two new models every year for the next ten years! So the good news is that Triumph has more exciting things coming just around the corner.
Triumph has also refined their marketing efforts with a new corporate identity, advertising plan and refreshed trademark logo designed to "put them on the map" as a highly recognized and sought after brand in the USA. All in all, it is an exciting time to be a Triumph dealer and a Triumph owner. See us now to put down you deposit on these exciting new models for March '05 delivery.
Stand out in the crowd! Own a Triumph and "Go your own way!"
